Who are we?

PropertyInsight is a joint venture supported by the Institute of Geological & Nuclear Sciences Limited (providing natural hazard data and expertise), Quotable Value Limited (matching the data to the property details) and Niu Pacific Limited (educational/marketing expertise from EQC).

What is our purpose?

Our purpose is to provide hazard risk information at a property level to enable better decision making; to educate the public on the risks that exist and the steps to mitigate risk; to partner with relevant parties to provide additional hazard information; and, to assist Territorial Legal Authority's meet their legal reporting obligations especially in relation to LIMs (Land Information Memorandums) and PIMs (Land Information Memorandums).

Where do we get our information?

Our information comes from the most credible sources in New Zealand. Quotable Value provides the property information. The Institute of Geological & Nuclear Sciences supplies our earthquake, tsunami, geothermal, and landslide information. Landcare Research and Regional, City, and District Councils supply our flooding information - although because the type of data they collect and the way it is collected varies, so too do some of hazard 'likelihood levels'.

What about other hazards?

As our business grows we will continue to add new hazard information over time. For example, we are hoping to have online both weather-related hazards and the impact of topography on the maximum available sunshine hours.

How long have we been around for?

PropertyInsight was established in 2003 after comprehensive testing of its information product and delivery system.
